We met on a random Tuesday night when our mutual friends invited us to trivia. The only seat for him was the one by me. For the next 3 weeks, we met for trivia. Then he asked me out on a date.

March 14th 2025

Our first date was at Columbia Craft Brewing, with a subsequent date the very next morning at the annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival. In that whirlwind of 48 hours, we stopped being strangers. A week later, he asked me to be his girlfriend following a romantic dinner at Villa Tronco, the night he asked me to be his girlfriend. That night, he said he didn’t believe in coincidences.

At 3 months, at the Cock and Bull Pub—another place we play trivia—he told me he loved me.

The year of 2025

We hardly left each other side since the moment we met, so there is much I could talk about, but one of the most memorable moments of our year—to me—happened in Charleston. Sitting in the pool in Summer, he asked if I would wait a year before getting engaged.

By month 4, I knew we both were certain where this was going.

February 14th, 2026

Four days before the anniversary of us meeting at Jack Browns, he asked me to marry him. The location not only allowed me to have my dog be there for the big moment (which he knew I would want), but is special to us as Bierkeller on the River is yet another place we played trivia. The whole year felt immaculately serendipitous.
